1. How did you get into the industry? When did you know?
I was always obsessive about my own hair growing up, so the decision to enter the industry came after high school.
2. How long have you been in the industry?
10 years.
3. What do you like most about being a hair stylist?
I love coming in contact with all different types of people. I wouln't be who I am today without their influence!
4. Where do you look for inspiration?
I find insiration all around me; From traveling to new places, looking at magazines, and experiencing the trends in the world of pop culture.
5. How do you keep up with the latest trends?
Education has always been key for me, so I stay up to date by attending classes, trade shows, and working with other artists in the industry.
6. What are some of your goals?
I have always had the desire to become a well-known artist and teach classes in NYC.
7. What do you consider your specility?
I love doing razored haircuts, and anything with color. I also never turn down an oppertunity to create a whole new look for someone.
8. What is your approach to working with hair?
Listening to the client and finding that balance with what they want from their hair and what the hair will do on a daily basis.
9. How do you customize looks for your clients?
All of my answers are found in the consultation. Analyzing the texture and condition help me understand the boundaries of the fabric I am working with.
10. Describe your personal style.
I love classic and trendy styles, and something that brings a playful energy to it all.
11. What celebrity always has good hair?
I adore Reese Witherspoon and Mandy Moore. They always have been seen with excellent haircuts and color that enhances their natural beauty.
12. What advice would you give someone coloring their hair for the first time?
Be sure to understand the maintenance of what you truely want. It's okay to start out with something less drastic and work your way into it so that your new image leads you in the right direction. |
